As we have in the past years, we are again participating in the Alberta Health sponsored Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Program.     That will mean that you can receive your influenza vaccination (flu shot) at Stafford Pharmacy & Home Healthcare as part of this provincial program.  Last year (2017/2018) pharmacists in Alberta provided more than 50% of the total flu shots given within this provincial program proving that Albertans have become very comfortable with going to their pharmacist for their seasonal vaccination.

This vaccination is NO CHARGE to all Albertans and is administered in our pharmacy Monday to Friday between 10:00am and 4:00pm after our initial flu clinics.  All in pharmacy vaccinations are done by a pharmacist who has been certified by the Alberta College of Pharmacists to administer injections.   All of our current pharmacists on staff have this certification.  We also have a registered nurse on staff for additional support should it be needed.

No appointment is necessary for this vaccination but you must have a valid Alberta Personal Healthcare Card and you will be required to fill out a short consent form prior to the vaccination.   It is also advisable to give yourself some additional time if you’ve ever had a reaction to a vaccination such as dizziness, light headed symptoms or fainting.

As a precaution we will ask that you stay in the pharmacy for approximately 15 minutes or until we can confirm that you are feeling well enough to leave.
