Medical Grade Stockings (20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60 mmHg) Prescription Stockings

These stockings are measured and fit by a certified fitter or master fitter. Depending on the severity of the problem the stockings may be ready made or may be custom made to measure.  Ready made is measured but they are sized based on the charts provided by the various stocking companies. Custom made-to-measure are made to the measurements taken by a master fitter and some of the fabric choices are specific to the pathology of the leg. Indications are venous insufficiency, post venous ulceration, post deep vein thrombosis (DVT, clots),  lymphedema, to name a few. When we fit an individual with complicated legs we consider the compression (is the prescription the correct pressure based on diagnosis), the fabric (circular knit, natural rubber, or flat knit), whether or not to use an underliner (cotton low pressure stockings worn under compression to protect fragile skin particularly post venous ulceration).

Armsleeves, Gloves and Gauntlets

These products are used for people dealing with lymphedema of the arm, and hand. This is usually seen in individuals who have had a mastectomy with removal of lymph nodes. With the removal of lymph nodes due to cancer or threat of cancer the lymphatic system is not able to efficiently move lymphatic fluid from the arm or hand. This results in swelling (edema) that is lymphatic in nature and is resistant to decompression. The limb can become heavy and uncomfortable if left untreated. We provide ready made garments and custom made-to-measure. As well as Circaid Products, and Night Time Compression Garments The one most important thing to remember when dealing with lymphedema is “The way you treat it early will directly effect the long term outcome.”  Do not put off treating lymphedema as it will only get worse and will be harder to treat the longer it is left.
