Algy's Herb Page - Currently Under Construction
This is certainly one of the most interesting places on the web and has been so for a number of years. Despite the odd "handle" Algy's Herb Page has provided one of the earliest broad reference to the rational study of herbal products.   The variety of information from medicinal herbs, culinary herbs, recipe exchange to a fascinating library of online books on herbal medicine and even a tutorial on growing your own herbal garden. What more could you ask for.
 
  American Herbal Products Association
National Trade Association of the Herbal Products Industry.  Also have access to the NDI Herbal Database at http://ndi.npicenter.com .  You must register as a member to gain access to the database.   Useful links to industry specific resources for those in the herbal products industry such as retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors.  Not intended for the general consumer or even the practitioner. 
 
  American Botanical Council
Still the premier reference site for everything related to herbal products used for medicinal purposes.   In their own words:
"Established in 1988, the American Botanical Council (ABC) is the leading independent, nonprofit, international member-based organization providing education using science-based and traditional information to promote the responsible use of herbal medicine."
They are the author of the HerbalGram; a monthly journal that provides detailed information about selected medicinal herbals.   Their articles are commonly kept as part of the practitioner's library because the information is detailed and researched, so you can be confident that the information is accurate and reliable.

Articles and the complete (searchable) text of the 2 volume, 900 page "A Modern Herbal", by Mrs M. Grieve, originally published in 1931.

  RxList - The Internet Drug Index

The Top 200 Prescriptions (1995, 1996) was recently added with hypertext links to generic prescribing information. These 200 products represent nearly 2/3 of all prescriptions filled in the United States and the majority of searches of the RxList database. You can now perform keyword searches of all RxList monographs (Nearly 300 of them) simultaneously for potential drug interactions and side effects.

  Food and Drug Administration (US)

FDA is a public health agency of the US, charged with protecting American consumers by enforcing the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and several related public health laws. This site contains a vast collection of full-text information ranging from toxicology research to reports on safety of cosmetics, food and medical products.
 

  Health Canada

This is a very important source of the reliable information on policy development initiatives in Canada, as well as result of the Federally funded research initiatives. Contains several Drug databases, guides and publication information. Provides access to news releases and drug related warnings.
