This is a part-time position for a Pharmacist
licensed to practice in Alberta. This assumes a practicing pharmacist
status with the Alberta College of Pharmacists.
The ideal candidate will enjoy developing
pharmacist-patient relationships with the goal being to achieve effective health
outcomes. The applicant must be a people focused individual, with
excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Interest in
extemporaneous compounding, both non-sterile and sterile preparation, is a
must. We offer a challenging environment that brings with it many
professional rewards. Many of the challenges involve innovative
compounding solutions which requires more than a casual interest in compounding.
Familiarity with the Simplicity Plus software system
is preferred but not essential. Most importantly the individual must have
a healthy attitude toward technology and its integration into pharmacy
practice as a tool.
Good organizational skills are
important, as this is a busy pharmacy practice with exposure to a wide
variety of clinical situations. An ability to work with technical staff is a must,
as well as service, sales, administrative and management staff.
The supervisory responsibilities of this position
include management of day to day operations of the dispensary. This
includes inventory controls, ordering procedures, new product procurement,
opening and closing procedures, staff supervision including technical staff and
general dispensary operations.
We are an innovative community pharmacy with
particular focus on disease management, health outcomes and customized
therapeutic solutions. This may require the pharmacist to take the
role of educator, lecturer and consultant. Good research and
presentation skills are important, but certainly can be developed on the job.
The available shifts include an equal number of morning, evening
and Saturday hours. There are no Sunday or holiday
shifts. The position is permanent and available
immediately. Remuneration is competitive and negotiable dependent on
experience, post-university certifications and/or any other practice-based qualifications.
